There are many remarkable stories and accomplishments, and I am often amazed by the various ways in which CAFS and its programs are making a positive and demonstrable difference in the world. After Hurricane Michael wreaked havoc and devastation in Tallahassee and the Big Bend region, the CAFS Cooperative Extension Program provided hot meals, water, clothing and personal hygiene items to the victims. So as we start the year inspired and energized, I hope you will too will be amazed as you read about some of the other highlights in this issue of the CAFS magazine. Our research programs have crossed borders offering research and training expertise from Guyana in the Caribbean to Jordan in the Middle East. Our students have sought out and earned internship spots with entities such as the U.S. Navy in Bahrain and the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia, Africa. Also, our Veterinary Technology Program has received full accreditation and our animal science program strengthened with the addition of a new faculty with emphasis on animal nutrition and microbiomics
